Now that “going green” is more mainstream than ever, a wider audience is interested in incorporating eco-friendly decisions into their daily lives. Green Matters: Organic Living basically offers a showcase featuring people worldwide doing just that: from a pizza shop in the Philippines employing reusable bamboo trays instead of disposable paper boxes, to urban farming in Brooklyn, this collection of two-to three-minute pieces profiles individuals or companies trying to make an environmentally positive difference. The title is a bit misleading: many of the clips aren't specifically about “organic” matters, but rather about general eco-friendliness (such as a children's horticulture education program in England). Adopting an informative magazine-format style, each segment essentially interweaves interview clips together with on-location footage, but instead of being a focused or practical production, this is really more of a sampler reel spotlighting green living in action. The other titles in the nine-volume Green Matters series (series price: $349) are: Endangered Species, Bio Fuels, Global Warming, Recycling, Pollution, Alternative Energy, Conservation, and Eco Friendly. Optional. Aud: J, H, P. (E. Gieschen)
