Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson and the rest of Heart are in good form in this solid if unspectacular 102-minute concert video, shot in 2002 in their hometown of Seattle. The sisters, of course, are a good deal older (and, in Ann's case, considerably, um, bigger) than in Heart's ‘70s heyday, and their bandmates have changed, but the group's sound, led by Ann's powerful vocals and Nancy's instrumental versatility, hasn't changed much, which is a good thing for those who revel in popular hits such as “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” "Crazy on You," "These Dreams," "Alone" and others. Several brand new songs are performed here as well, and the ongoing influence of Led Zeppelin is readily apparent, not only in the covers of classics like “Black Dog” and “The Battle of Evermore” but also in Heart's commingling of pastoral acoustic sounds and hard rock. Sporting Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS soundtrack options, this 19-song set should satisfy even the most ardent Heart lover. Aud: P. (S. Graham)[Blu-ray Review—July 22, 2008—Image, 103 min., not rated, $24.98—Making its first appearance on Blu-ray, 2002's Heart: Alive in Seattle features an incredible transfer and a room-filling DTS-HD master audio 5.0 soundtrack. The only extra is a nine-minute interview with Heart. Bottom line: a fine Blu-ray concert.]
