The Hirsute One roams again in this tabloid-style documentary which was originally released just after interest in Bigfoot was renewed due to the abysmal feature film Harry and the Hendersons (1987). To its credit, In the Shadow of Bigfoot tosses in some history concerning sightings of "wild men" dating back to ancient times. But the primary focus of the film is an extended tracking taking the filmmakers from Vermont to Florida, Louisiana, Alaska, and northern California. Many sequences showing Bigfoot, shot by Ivan Marx, are included, and will be interpreted according to the viewer's feelings about Bigfoot: to non-believers it appears to be a man in a monkey suit; to believers, the real McCoy. With cover art blurbs like "With Regrets I Shot Bigfoot" and " In the Midst of Their Terror, They Kept Their Cameras Rolling," there's no question that people will check this out. But Bigfoot's no longer big news, and only the largest libraries who want to fill out their "mysteries & phenomena" section should consider this. (Available from: Amazing Horizons Inc., P.O.
