The Information Age is upon us, and the hottest new technology is the Internet, which is probably the fastest growing medium both in terms of usage and in the extent to which it's influencing everyday life. Businesses desperately need knowledgeable people as web designers, programmers, instructors, managers, etc. In Internet Careers: College Not Required, a variety of web entrepreneurs are interviewed about their own backgrounds, their experiences in this fledgling industry, and suggestions for viewers interested in this sort of career. Although the title suggests that higher education isn't necessary, training in graphic design and programming is strongly recommended, as well as general computer knowledge. Besides that, creativity, attention to detail, and most of all, an ability to learn quickly and adapt, is crucial. Emphasizing the enormous potential of this job field, one interview subject asks: "Who will be the one to come up with the revolutionary Internet equivalent of MTV?" Despite the talking-head prevalence, this video does a decent job of providing a motivational overview and is, therefore, a strong optional purchase. Aud: H, C, P. (E. Gieschen)
