Using the fictional company of the Beaverton Bakery, this introductory business video defines for students the basic terminology of business. After a brief skit involving a business meeting, during which students are likely to feel as if they're listening to alien chitchat, the program covers the many terms used in the conversation. Beginning with the basic types of businesses, the video goes on to break down the components of a business plan, explain the various forms and ledgers used by the accounting department, outlines the procedures involved in "taking orders" for a product (purchase orders, invoicing etc.), touches on support services (clerical, etc.), sales and marketing, quality control, and newer wrinkles such as the human resources department (i.e. the people that hire you or give you the boot). While the information is fine for an introductory video on the subject, the video looks a bit washed out, and there is noticeable background noise on the audio track. High school libraries may want to consider, but otherwise this is not a necessary purchase. (Available from: Cambridge Career Products,
