What can one small community do to improve international relations when their country seems bent on screwing them up? Bainbridge Island, an affluent community of 13,000 residents decided to send a delegation to the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua to invite the people to be their "sister island". Spearheaded by Kim Esterberg and Pete Flynn, the group obtained the services of professional videographers Mark Dworkin and Melissa Young to carry to the Nicaraguans a video postcard of Bainbridge life, and bring one back of Ometepe. As a result of the cultural exchange, the people on Bainbridge Island are now working to help the Ometepe residents in their effort to build an educational daycare facility for Ometepe children. The production values are top-notch, and the footage of Nicaragua village life will be of interest to many. Recommended. (Available from: Bainbridge/Ometepe Sister Island Association, P.O.
