Presented in August, 1994 on the Disney Channel, this concert/interview collage featuring popular '70s singer-songwriter-activist Jackson Browne offers an impressive 23 songs (many of which are unfortunately interrupted with interview clips), including half the songs off his 1993 comeback album I'm Alive (at the expense of omitting such early standouts as "Rock Me on the Water" and "Stay/The Load-Out"). In addition to commentary from Browne, the disc features interviews and performance footage with Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby, Graham Nash (the Crosby-Nash-Browne version of "Lives in the Balance" is a real highlight, both musically and humor-wise), David Lindley and Don Henley. Other songs include Browne's signature hit "Doctor My Eyes," "Take It Easy" (which he co-wrote with The Eagles' Glenn Frey), "The Pretender," and--in a beautifully edited sequence featuring Browne performing over a 30-year-period--"Running on Empty." Sure to appeal to fans, this is recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
