Margaret's Blue Diamond Lounge in Clarksdale, Mississippi jams with the sound of the Delta Blues in this back to back concert video recorded on October 5, 1991, featuring live performances by Arthneice "The Gas Man" Jones and the Stone Gas Band, and Big Jack "The Oil Man" Johnson and The Jelly Roll Kings. The intro by Stone Gas Band keyboard player Howard Stovall is strictly for blues fans only, but once the music starts, things are mighty fine. Standouts include Jones' "Annie Mae" ("Annie Mae, why you wear your pants so tight?"), which is not a terribly enlightened tune, but it does cook, and Johnson's "I'm A Big Boy Now," in which the singer explains to his mama that he can yodel like Gene Autry and Roy Rogers now if he wants to because he's grown-up--and then he does. A nice slice of the blues. Recommended. (Available from most distributors.)
