Ah, another academically-light, overly-long presentation on a UFO incident: this one from Kecksburg, PA, circa December 1965. Heavy on eyewitness accounts, Kecksburg: The Untold Story presents the by-now familiar details of all such sightings: conflicting accounts of military presence (were just three soldiers there, or were there "military everywhere you looked"?); reporters who were enthusiastic at first, but were then silenced by visits from "some men"; all tapes and photos from the crash site either seized by the military or mysteriously vanished; and explanations involving meteors. Written and narrated by UFO researcher Stan Gordon, this video does actually interview a few science personnel, one of whom suspects the fallen craft may be a Russian space probe called Cosmos 96, which did in fact disappear from the sky on December 9, 1965, when the Cold War was in high gear. As with most videos of this ilk, Gordon's is not really a serious attempt at understanding the possibility of extraterrestrial contact, but a rather sensationalistic look at a western Pennsylvania mystery, complete with scary organ music and cover-typography that looks like a promo for a Frankenstein movie. Not recommended. Aud: P. (K. Glaser)
