LYM kicks off its third year with a new round of stories of interest to librarians. In the opening segment, Governor Mario Cuomo speaks at the opening of the Benjamin S. Rosenthal Library of Queens College-an enviable university library which features some 65 different collections, and a two million item capacity. In this issue, viewers also meet Patrick Jones, an innovative young YA librarian at Springfield Public Library (Mass.) who tries to reach kids at their own level. With his flamboyant appearance and vivacious (and occasionally naughty) storytelling, Mr. Jones has been responsible for a 31% increase in YA circulation. Other segments include: a look at the historical photograph collection of the New Orleans Public Library, a profile of the Library Theatre troupe, and tour of Boston Public Library's new Access Center for Disabled People.
