The latest installment in Library Video Magazine, the ongoing saga of noteworthy stories in libraryland, features six new segments including: a look at the United States Newspaper Program, an ambitious joint undertaking of the National Endowment for the Humanities and Library of Congress to locate, catalog, and microfilm the over 250,000 newspapers published in the U.S. since 1690; the George Peabody Library's innovative fund-raising measure: auctioning off duplicate copies of rare books at a Sotheby's auction; and Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Public Library's recent public dial-in service for access to their online catalog-including the placing of reserves (14,000 during a 10-week period at Cuyahoga County alone). Holy overload, Batman! Other stories include the opening of a new library in Wyandanch on Long Island; and an interview with Representative Pat Williams about the future of the LSCA program. Highly recommended. (See THE FUTURE IS INFORMATION for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
