Ex-Monkee and Liquid Paper heir Michael Nesmith reminds all and sundry that his solo career was marked by a distinctly c&w flavor in this live concert filmed on the 30th anniversary of the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon in 1992. Monkee fans as well as those who fondly recall Nesmith's groundbreaking Grammy award winning music video Elephant Parts will be sorely disappointed by the largely country, slide-guitar backed set proffered here in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, featuring tunes culled from Nesmith's solo albums as well as "new" songs from his then current release Tropical Campfires. Unexceptionally lensed, the 18-song set nevertheless features a string of tunes that will resonate with the faithful, including "Some of Shelly's Blues," "Silver Moon," "Rio" and, the one undisputed Nez megahit, "Joanne" ("Her name was Joanne..."). An optional purchase, this is also available as a 2-CD set. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
