With all things Titanic enjoying major monetary success, it's no surprise that GRB Entertainment has cobbled together three segments on Titanic's special effects from Movie Magic which aired on the Discovery Channel and--to make a theme--added pieces on the nuclear submarine thriller Crimson Tide and the underwater monster flick Deep Rising. Director James Cameron waxes sorta philosophical on Titanic's larger meaning, which is not terribly compelling, but the program does go behind the scenes to show how some of the most impressive sequences in the film were created on miniature sets paired with the magic of computer animation. And, for any teenage female readers, yes, Leo is on-camera and even briefly sings director Cameron's praises...but, and I don't say this to lance an already open wound, he's also shown hugging that trollop Kate Winslet. As a documentary, this is lighter than a mouse fart; still, if we factor in popularity...better buy two. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
