Winner of a Gold Medal at the New York Film Festival and a 1990 CINE Golden Eagle award, this entry in the American Visions: Portraits of the National Parks series uses stunning photography by Pat O'Hara and Ross Hamilton, and a soothing soundtrack by Mannheim Steamroller keyboard artist Jackson Berkey to paint an exciting visual and aural portrait of Washington state's Olympic National Park. Established in 1938, Olympic National Park is comprised of nearly one million acres of pristine forest and shoreline. The park is seen through the seasons, with a combination of live-action video and slide-show dissolve scenes, which are accompanied by informative narration. Highlights include: Marymere Falls, Toleak Point, Unicorn Peaks, the Quinault Rain Forest, Point of the Arches, and many of the animal sights, such as Olympic marmots, black-tailed deer, and Roosevelt elk. A beautiful program. Highly recommended. Editor's Choice. (Available from most distributors.)
