I'm not sure what Saint Fermin would think about how the Basque people of Spain celebrate his feast day: for an entire week, the town of Pamplona goes nuts, running with the bulls during the day, and drinking at night in a noisy, colorful, musical, and highly entertaining Mardi Gras-like festival that attracts, among others, dimwits from around the world who want to test their manhood. In this episode (from the 39 presently available in the Passport to Adventure series), perky bicyclists/hosts Julie Conover and Mark Jennings take viewers on a journey that starts in France's Biarritz region, stops off at the fishing village of St. Jean de Luz, and then snakes through the foothills of the Pyrenees before reaching Pamplona. Don't expect a discussion of the often bloody Basque separatist movement here; this is a video for people who love to drink, not think. Still, considering both the price and the fact that library travel collections are starved for new titles (not to mention the fact that there's always someone willing to be trampled by galloping bovine), this is recommended. Other titles in this far-ranging series include; Skiing the French Alps, A Camel Safari in the Thar Desert of India, Trekking in Nepal and A Journey Down the Yangtze River, China. Aud: P. (J.
