Until the coming of the "hat acts" in 1989 (Clint Black and Garth Brooks), Randy Travis ruled the neo-traditional country & western airwaves with a string of hits that began with 1986's Storms of Life, featuring "1982," "Diggin' Up Bones" and "On the Other Hand" (all included here), and continued throughout the following decade. In this masterfully recorded concert, filmed at the Sun Theatre in Anaheim, CA on December 14, 2000, Travis serves up 18 full-length polished gems (with a "bonus" track covering Roger Miller's "King of the Road"), including "If I Didn't Have You," "Hard Rock Bottom of My Heart," "Deeper Than the Holler," "Look Heart, No Hands," "It's Just a Matter of Time," and a 6-song medley (with "Honky Tonk Moon" and "I Told You So"). Extras include a half-hour plus interview with Travis on his life and music, and (perhaps a music DVD first) a brief interview endorsement from former President George Bush, Sr. Also included is a second disc featuring a DVD audio recording of the concert (which will play in standard DVD players, as well the new DVD Audio players presently owned by about 12 audiophiles). Highly recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
