An Independent Film Channel interview series hosted by Alec Baldwin, Raw Footage focuses on indie filmmakers. Episode 6 spotlights Allison Anders (writer/director of Gas, Food, Lodging, Mi Vida Loca, and Grace of My Heart) and David O. Russell (writer/director of Spanking the Monkey, Flirting with Disaster and, most recently, Three Kings). Both Anders and Russell are engaging, thoughtful subjects, and Baldwin, who seems genuinely interested in their work, asks intelligent questions that elicit meaty responses regarding the trials and tribulations of indie filmmaking and writing. Anyone who is into indie film will enjoy these interviews (illustrated with generous film clips), and aspiring filmmakers will find them particularly pleasing and informative. Recommended. The other titles are Episode 1: Barbara Trent, Episode 2: R.J. Cutler & David Van Taylor, Episode 3: Freida Lee Mock & Steven Cantor, Episode 4: Robert Drew and Episode 5: Joshua Seftel & Michael Pack (the first five episodes only are also available as a set for $295). Aud: H, C, P. (P. Van Vleck)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
