Working to change the misconception that boys play sports while girls cheer on the sidelines, Real Girls, Real Sports interviews coaches, parents, and girls of all ages and backgrounds. We see the girls struggle as they learn to master new skills in soccer, tennis, basketball, and softball, and listen to them discuss how participation in sports makes them feel--emotionally as well as physically. While statistics are presented at the end supporting statements made in the program, the real point of this video is to encourage girls to participate in sports. Young viewers will enjoy hearing ordinary girls their own age share their experiences, and while this is not "report" material, the video may help girls get excited about trying new things.
