Christian comedians Tim Hawkins, Bob Smiley, and John Branyan team up here for several shows, presenting funny material about marriage, parenting, and whatever crosses their minds. Wholesome but edgy, the trio find delightfully self-deprecating ways of pulling humor from the challenge of a lifelong commitment and raising kids. (As Branyan says at one point, he wouldn't have an act if it weren't for his family.) Headliner Hawkins jokes about the ways in which marriage changes over the years, and how a wife will one day get mad at her husband for behaving badly in a dream. Smiley begins his set making fun of his own high voice (and the absurd idea that he could ward off burglars with it), then riffs about how his wife is so smart that he has to look up the words she uses during an argument. A high point comes when Smiley recalls winging his way through marital vows, quoting movie lines and song lyrics in lieu of actually having written something. Branyan carries on in this vein, describing marriage as a blessing from God and then complaining about a night he wanted to go out with the boys while his wife wanted him to stay…and cut their wedding cake. A solid bet for Christian audiences, this is recommended. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
