Call me sacrilegious, but men scratching, spitting, and-for the most part-standing around, is not my idea of a super time. So a "bloopers" tape about baseball would be, by definition, more interesting than the sport itself. Here's the pitch: we see strapping young hunks colliding in mid-air while attempting to shag fly balls, men (who are earning more money than any of our offspring will see in seven generations) applying themselves to the serious sport of putting bubble gum-surreptitiously-on each other's caps (cue laugh track), and amazing off-the-shoe type "bloopers" which--regardless of the cuteness factor--still go on the player's record as an "error." To be honest, the bloopers are sometimes worth a smile. But let's not kid ourselves here: they are no contest for a good Budweiser commercial. Strictly optional. (N. Plympton)
