Some 100 years ago, the rickety contraption that lumbered into the sky off the windy sands of Kitty Hawk, NC might have caused some observers to imagine air travel over the next century, but no one could have predicted something like the B-2 stealth bomber. Although few Americans have been fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the sleek "flying wing" airborne, the B-2 has played a key role in both wars with Iraq. Allowed unprecedented access to the home station of the B-2 at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, the producers of The B-2 Stealth Bomber present a close-up, detailed look at the B-2 (amazingly conceived in the 1940s, but impossible to fly until the 1990s), explains the concept of "stealth technology," and correlates the application of this technology with the B-2's range, weapons' load, defenses, etc. Viewers will be impressed at how air travel has evolved from the Wright Brothers to Buck Rogers in a mere century. The plentiful DVD extras include a featurette on B-2 pilot training, a 3-D interactive tour of the plane, and computer desktop wallpapers. Highly recommended. Editor's Choice. Aud: H, C, P. (J.
