Given that money has been called the root of all evil, what's a Christian businessperson to do? Reconciling the worlds of profit and spirituality is at the core of this faith-based program, which follows a small group of business leaders and Bible teachers at a weekend gathering who discuss a number of topics related to scriptural teachings and the contemporary marketplace. While many of the conversations end with the observation that if Christianity is one's highest priority, the two need never be at odds, the issues are often challenging, such as a session in which participants talk about simply giving money to charity vs. investing time, expertise, and elbow grease in doing charitable work, which brings many of its own rewards even if it does not yield a profit measured in dollars. Other questions include “Why let prayer take up your valuable time?” and “Can your business embrace the supernatural?” Sure to be a solid discussion starter, this is recommended. Aud: P. (C. Block)
