The Day the Towers Fell

One can only imagine what emotions were going through the minds of persons who had cameras with them on the morning of September 11, 2001. Certainly, they felt the terror and incredible sense of unreality that we all shared, but these men and women were also in a very special position to capture on film the various images that defined that unforgettable day. A&E's The Day the Towers Fell brings together a number of photographers, both professionals and amateurs, who talk about the pictures that stand out in their minds: bodies falling from the towers, the roiling cloud of ash that engulfed most of Lower Manhattan, looking into the eyes of people who felt they were near death, and, finally, the ugly scar that forever changed the skyline of the city of New York.
