As befits the traditional mode of expression on this topic, the tone of this video is strident. Strident and generally one-sided, but still an interesting selection for the legions of Armageddon fans prowling our nation's libraries. Concentrating mostly on old favorites such as Nostradamus, the Mayan calendar and some well-selected Biblical prophets, this video paints a grim picture that might suggest to the suggestible, that the end of the world is quite near. Is there significance in the fact that the Mayan calendar ends soon, or that St. Malachai predicted popes up through the current JPII and only two more? The tone of this vid would say yes, but veteran observers of the throes of popular history might wonder how even-handed that view and this program really are. Of course it has the usual sparkling A&E production values and carefully leavened sensationalism allowing it to be considered mildly informative. Thanks to the wave of end times interest afoot in the land, this is a strong optional purchase. Aud: P. (M. Tribby)
