Produced by the Israel Film Service, the purpose of this brief documentary is a little mystifying. Since the Six Day War in 1967, Israel has controlled the Golan Heights, a strategic strip of high ground that overlooked Israel's northern flank. Prior to the war, the Syrian army routinely fired down upon the Israeli's from the Golan Heights. Since 1967, however, the Syrian army has been powerless in attacking northern Israel. In 1973, during the Yom Kippur War, the Israeli's successfully turned the Syrians back. Although nicely produced with some fine computer animation depicting the area, and a few nifty jet flyovers, it's unclear who is the intended audience for the film. Besides the Arab nations, who needs convincing that the Golan Heights are vital to Israeli security? Not a necessary purchase.
