Exciting, provocative, intense, compelling, glamorous; yes, that's exactly what my job description promises--but it's taken. Still, if you've got a spare camera, a talent for shooting things, and a hankering for malaria, loneliness, and all manner of insects crawling into every conceivable orifice in your body, well happy camper, this shutterbug's homage is for you! National Geo has been the window to our world (and beyond) for generations, and photographers have been telling us entire stories in a single shot for over a century. In this program, some of the world's finest photographers discuss their passion for the art and craft of picture taking and share insights into how they've captured those exquisitely frozen images. Not surprisingly, the digital manipulation that soured National Geographic's reputation in 1982 (remember the doctored pyramids cover shot?) is not mentioned here.
