Filmed live at Webster Hall in Manhattan in June 2004, this hip-hop extravaganza is hosted by The Roots, whose own "Web" kicks the 20-plus song set off with metronome-like funk supporting rapid-fire rapping. Also on hand: the commanding, dynamic Skillz, who weighs in with "NOD Factor," while the heavily-tattooed, witty crowd favorite Jean Grae brings a touch of gospel drama to her spoken-word "What Would I Do." One of the highlights finds the exciting duo Young Gunz resurrecting the old call-and-response tradition in their raps, and bringing down the house with "Can't Stop, Won't Stop," with The Roots closing out with the soulful "Stay Cool." Hip-hop and contemporary R&B fans will find much to like in this lively concert, presented here in Dolby Digital stereo. Recommended. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
