With relentless enthusiasm, host David Nunn takes viewers on a whirlwind tour of Turkey, visiting seven cities chosen to receive the words of the risen Christ as prophesied in Revelations 2-3. Combining commentary on the various scriptural passages, together with background history and a discussion of the status of early Christians in each place, this nicely photographed religious travelogue begins with modern-day Ephesus, followed by Smyrna, Pergamum, Thatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea, visiting ruins of theaters, libraries, temples, gymnasia, and even an early Christian basilica. As the content presupposes a certain familiarity with Revelations, this would be most suitable as a complement to the study of scripture, although the added bonus of providing impressive views of a popular travel destination makes this a strong optional purchase for general collections as well.
