In 2000, the Sydney, Australia-based Company B theatre group traveled to Dublin, Ireland to perform the children's play The Small Poppies at the Dublin Theatre Festival. Director Robert Mac's hour-shy documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look, combining performance and rehearsal footage, as well as interviews with the cast, playwright, director, and several of the Dublin children who attended the show. Among the members of Company B we find Academy Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush (Shine), who stars as five-year-old Clint in this universally-themed play revolving around the first day of school. A wonderful piece of work, this is enthusiastically recommended for anyone who loves the magic of theatre. Aud: H, C, P. (P. Van Vleck)
