Made for British television, this unauthorized biography profiles teen sensation Miley Cyrus. Born in Nashville in 1992, Cyrus' father is country-singer-turned-actor Billy Ray Cyrus, and Miley claims country superstar Dolly Parton as her godmother. In 2006, Miley shot to fame as the star of the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, and in the three years since, her name has adorned platinum-selling soundtracks, a successful 3D movie (in which Parton plays Hannah's aunt), and a wide variety of merchandise. The World According to Miley Cyrus traces Cyrus' career up to age 16, combining file footage of the singer in interviews and at public events, together with comments from speakers including Stephen Baldwin and former boyfriend Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, as well as observations from young fans. Unlike former Disney stars Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, Cyrus has managed to keep scandal at bay, so the profile contains no shocking revelations about her behavior. Because the program lacks Disney's stamp of approval, no songs or scenes from her TV show or movie are featured. DVD extras include short profiles of fellow teen stars Chris Brown, Dakota Fanning, Vanessa Hudgens, and Zac Efron. Optional. Aud: P. (K. Fennessy)
