At 27, Evan Goldstein holds the distinction of being the world's youngest master sommelier. In this guided tour of California's wine country, Goldstein selects eight wineries (out of the 180) in the Napa and Sonoma County regions to visit, including: Domaine Chandon, Trefethen Vineyard, Beaulieu Vineyard, Phelps Winery, Cuvaison Winery, and Buena Vista Winery. At each stop, Goldstein interviews employees of the winery, tours the fields and cellars, and, of course, samples the wine. In addition to the wineries visited, Goldstein recommends a number of places to eat, lodge, and play along the way. Often, these recommendations are filmed promotional pieces, with the telephone number listed onscreen. However, they are Goldstein's choices, and therefore do not seem purely commercial. A map, showing the route and listing the directions, is included with the video. Recommended. (Available from: Great Blue Productions, P.O. Box 429, Orinda, CA 94563.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
