A ton of superstars--not all necessarily c & w artists--agreed to perform cuts on the album, including Johnny and Roseanne Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Jimmy Martin, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, Levon Helm, former Byrds' members Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman, John Prine, John Hiatt, and Earl Scruggs, among others.
