From Quebecois director Manon Briand, this tepid drama stars Charlotte Laurier as Laurie, a female champion bicycle racer whose two second hesitation at the starting gate costs her a big race and puts her into early retirement. Starting over again, Laurie cuts her hair, moves in with her brother, becomes a courier, and befriends a cranky bicycle shop-owner. Gentle and a bit dull, the film sports many scenes--such as a heated argument about the type of gear to use on a bicycle, or long pans of Laurie bicycling through Quebec--that are probably best appreciated by bicyclists. However, if you do get excited about bicycle chains, this could be your flick. Very optional. (K. G. Schneider)
