All MTV editing, bad attitude, explosions and ammo, this fast-paced actioner apes the adrenaline-fueled demeanor of Michael Bay movies (The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor) but its plot revolves around the brazen daylight robbery of a Las Vegas casino by hard-core criminals dressed in Elvis get-ups. Double- and triple-crosses drive the rest of the movie as Kevin Costner (cast against type and having a ball as a charismatic, barbaric, dirty-dealing baddie) puts a slug in all his partners and plans to take off with the money himself. But fellow bad dude Kurt Russell survives, gets to the money first, and the chase is on. Director Demian Lichtenstein isn't as interested in plot as he is in showing off. But for all its predictability and ridiculously stylized shoot-'em-up cinematography, this slick flick is nothing if not invigorating. File it under "guilty pleasure." A strong optional purchase. (R.
