Here's the story: this sequel is better than the original, further exploring the hidden angst and--gulp--sexual tension that lies beneath the fake wood paneling and formica surface of the Brady household. Former Animal House graduate Tim Mathieson shakes things up as Carol Brady's first husband, who returns in search of a priceless antique that the clueless Brady's unwittingly plan to donate to a charity auction. Best bits include a hilariously excruciating musical excursion to the mall, Mathieson's stoned reaction when he discovers housekeeper Alice has inadvertently spiked his dinner with psychedelic mushrooms ("Oh God," he wails, "I'm tripping with the Brady's"), and the family's blissful sitcom state of mind ("Menage a trois," Marsha reads a salutation from her yearbook. "That must mean, ‘You're the most'"). (K. Lee Benson)
