Young and punkish Beatrice (Asia Argento, sexy daughter of cult director Dario), an unlikely London armed robber, makes a farfetched object of desire for grade-school teacher and jazz deejay Alan (the versatile and talented Jared Harris). Yet somehow the two make a happy pair, as B. Monkey (her street name, based on a spider monkey shoulder tattoo) secretly tries to retire from a life of crime at the ripe old age of early 20s and lead a life of relative domesticity. Of course, her former partners (Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Rupert Everett) keep pulling her back. Although the actors do their best, the script doesn't give them much help. A slumming Michael Radford (Il Postino, 1984) directs. Very optional. (T. Rich)
