Think live-action Rugrats. Think Look Who's Talking: The Next Generation. Just don't even think about purchasing this new low in high concept, in which computer-generated wizardry creates the unsettling sight of toddlers speaking like the animals in Babe. Cribbing from yet another movie, The Parent Trap, separated-at-birth twins Sly and Whit are accidentally reunited after Sly escapes from the underground lair of the evil Dr. Kinder (Kathleen Turner, whose career continues its Titanic descent), who is--stay with me--secretly raising a cloistered group of infants to decipher their baby talk, which she believes is a language that holds the wisdom of the universe. Whit has been raised in the loving and nurturing home of Robin and Dan Bobbins (a bland Kim Cattrall and Peter MacNichol). Dan is also close to cracking the code, which comes in handy when Kinder's goons unwittingly snatch Whit, leading Sly to eventually head up a toddler assault on Kinder. The humor rarely rises above diaper-level, with jokes about "diaper gravy" and several Home Alone-type assaults to bumbling adults' groins. Everyone connected with this movie deserves a permanent "time out." Not recommended. (K. Lee Benson)
