Reprehensible, infantile, insulting--these are just a few words to describe Bullet, a film so horrific you'll want to throw out your VCR. Mickey Rourke (9 1/2 Weeks) plays Butch, an ex-convict from Brooklyn who's wanted dead by a drug lord (the late Tupac Shakur). Director Julien Temple exploits his characters, using delicate subjects--prison rape, homosexuality, insanity--as if they were tools to create "art," but he reveals nothing honest or meaningful about those topics. This Bullet should never have been shot. (L. Russo)
