With the exception of some decent music samplings from Fatboy Slim, Barenaked Ladies, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Smash Mouth, there is little to distinguish this Pokémon knock-off (only with more action) big screen effort from its little screen anime origins. Confusingly divided into three segments covering an 8-year-period, the primary story--such as it is--revolves around the Digidestined (i.e., the kid heroes and heroines) wrangling their Digimons (digital monsters, which come in the friendly and unfriendly varieties) in a world-affecting battle against one particularly bad Internet Digimon who is merrily chewing up data like a Pac Man gone viral. The "PG" rating is mostly for the violence and mild bathroom humor (such as a farting baby digimon). Not a necessary purchase. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
