This eccentric English-language Indian film revolves around upscale salon owner Xen (Rehaan Engineer), a hairstylist who can read minds while he cuts hair (a supernatural ability as a result of having witnessed the accidental deaths of his parents when he was a child—and, no, there isn't any further explanation). Xen's peculiar talent naturally leads to complications as he becomes privy to his customers' innermost thoughts and secrets, although—ironically—the one person whose thoughts he can't read is Nikita (Koel Purie), the beautiful girl he most desires. Writer-director Rahul Bose—who also plays one of Xen's clients—handles this fanciful material pretty effectively—especially when one considers that, for the most part, the story is utterly ridiculous—only losing his way a little in the third act, when the film becomes somewhat darker. Overall, however, this giddy little dramedy offers solid entertainment. Recommended. (E. Hulse)
