It's every parent's nightmare: a happy shopping trip to the mall turns tragic when a little girl disappears and, after days of suspense, is found lifeless at the bottom of a ravine. In this well-constructed, suspenseful (albeit harrowing) fictional story, the struggles of a family coming to terms with unspeakable tragedy, and their journey of faith through sorrow, forgiveness and healing are artfully played out. The sympathetic but very human characters cope with issues of doubt and anger, questions about God's protection, and the healing process. Lovingly produced, Into His Arms offers a realistic view of epic grief, wavering faith and family relationships, in a Christian context, and as such is highly recommended for support groups, religious education or personal inspiration.
