This is the first new Peanuts program in over a decade and the old gang hasn't changed a bit in nearly 50 years of comic strip popularity. While rollerblading in his neighborhood, Linus hears a sweet and beautiful voice and follows the sound into a lovely garden where a mysterious young girl named Mimi is singing. He spends a special afternoon with his new friend, and invites her to his birthday party with sweet results. The original music by David Benoit is as familiar as the classic Vince Guaraldi Peanuts themes, but long stretches of music with Linus rollerskating endlessly down the street make for slow slogging in this day and age of the quick scene change. It is nice to have the Peanuts gang back though, they've been away too long. Recommended. Aud: P. (N. Plympton)
