Take the shallow set-up from 9 1/2 Weeks, then add elements reminiscent of Last Tango in Paris and In the Realm of the Senses--but without the artistic weight, intellectual depth or emotional resonance--and, finally, turn up the sadomasochism while embellishing with some yucky scatological business. The result is this sordid tale of the heightening sexual antics of an 18-year-old student and a 38-year-old sculptor who blissfully explore the outer limits of painful sex. Superfluous and vulgar chapter headings (“The First Hole,” “The Second Hole,” etc.) further push the envelope of acceptable taste in this made-in-Korea quasi-porn effort. Not recommended. (T. Rich)
