A big-time businessman visits a remote South American jungle to get a divorce from his estranged wife of 13 years, who is now living with an indigenous tribe. Once there, he gets the shock of his life--he has a son named Mimi-Siku. The young boy, raised as an Indian, has a pet tarantula and an affection for playing with blow darts. When dad returns home to the Big City, Mimi-Siku comes too, resulting in a predicable comedy of clashing cultures. If this screwball plot sounds familiar, you've probably seen the Disney remake, 1997's Jungle 2 Jungle, starring Home Improvement's Tim Allen. While both movies border on cliché, audiences are sure to favor the Disney version over this French 1994 original. With unsynchronized dubbed voices, a Parisian setting, and unfamiliar stars, kids will most likely pass up this second serving. Not recommended. (M. K. Lau)
