If the stalker comedy Chuck & Buck (VL-1/01) creeped you out, then this 1996 award-winning Dutch film will thoroughly unnerve you. Combining a hand-held video camera with a subjective point-of-view (anticipating both The Blair Witch Project and the so-called Dogme 95 films), Little Sister begins when Martin, who hasn't seen his sister "in ages," arrives suddenly on her front door. Like a Dutch Ross McElwee, he films her incessantly on the pretext that he is making a film about her life. But it becomes clear early on that he and sis have some unfinished business from their youth. Like Alfred Hitchcock's Rope, it's an interesting technical experiment, but the characters are, to say the least, not very good company. An optional purchase. (K. Lee Benson)
