Meet Serena and Donielle, two liberated lesbians who find their commitment to non-monogamy tested when Serena is asked to be the maid of honor at an ex-girlfriend's straight wedding. When faced with the chance to "hook up" with the bride-to-be (who claims that a fling with a lesbian does not count as cheating) the night before the wedding, Serena discovers that she might really prefer monogamy, but has trouble convincing Donielle to even consider it. Meanwhile, Donielle (as the "man" in the relationship) has been invited to the bachelor party, at which the groom-to-be enjoys the traditional sexual send-off, despite his claims that he has been and will always be totally faithful to his new wife. Finely photographed and competently acted, this fictional featurette effectively explores the contradictions and ambiguities between commitment and fidelity, between ideals and harsh reality, and does wonders with character and plot development throughout its short 25 minutes. Recommended for large gay collections that can afford its somewhat lofty price. Aud: C, P. (K. Glaser)
