Master guitarist Martin Taylor plays solo renditions (highlighted by strikingly original bouts of improvisation) of a handful of popular tunes and lesser-known gems, including "Georgia," "I Got Rhythm," "Can't Take That Away From Me," "Lulu's Back in Town," and a rockin' medley version of "Dixie/Old Man River," among other tunes. Filmed at the Manchester Craftsman's Guild in Pittsburgh, PA, Taylor interacts very little with the audience (who is never shown). Instead, the video cuts back and forth between interview segments before the songs which offer too little information to be of genuine instructional value, but go on just long enough to effectively break up the rhythm of the concert. Larger music collections may want to add for the virtuosity of the music (and the pristine sound); for others, this is an optional purchase. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
