Maybe...Maybe Not

When handsome Axel (Til Schweiger) is caught sleeping with another woman by his girlfriend Doro (Katja Reimann), she throws him out of the apartment. Luckily, Axel meets gay Norbert (Joachim Krol) who's happy to provide him with a place to stay. The two become friends, and perhaps more. Writer/director Sonke Wortmann has wisely left some scenes a bit hazy, making the film unpredictable and interesting. We're not sure who's going to end up with whom. There are some truly wild moments, as well--in one scene, Axel is found crouching naked on a coffee table with his eyes glazed over because he inhaled too much of a farm-animal aphrodisiac. This German comedy is light, amusing, and pure entertainment. (L. Russo)
