If you look beyond the facts that Tom Arnold is a hack, and will always be a hack; that Tim Curry plays the exact same type of villain as he did in The Three Musketeers; that Peter Crabbe's script is as witty and clever as a puppy on Prozac; and that millions of dollars and lots of innocent people's time were wasted to make a movie about some giddy Navy retiree who saves an island of people from some dumb plot hatched by a goofy criminal, then you'll probably like McHale's Navy. Hopefully not. Not recommended. (L. Russo)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
