A cinematic delight, this rambunctious slice-of-life focusing on the lives of a wacky bunch of residents in a single block in Rome as they wait for a solar eclipse offers adventurous viewers some real treats. Much of the action is seen through the eyes of kids on summer vacation, as they engage in such non-scholastic pursuits as farting contests, trying to sneak a peek at an elderly (and recently deceased) tenement dweller, or playing soccer (and purposefully launching the ball into the open window of a buxom neighbor). Charming, innovatively filmed, and more than a little wise, Leone Pumpucci's winsome comedy is strongly recommended. (R. Pitman)

As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
